I have Samba running on a Linux server, and access the files from a Mac client. I don't have any problem accessing the files over Samba, except that on the Mac, all files show up with the executable. Hello I want to create samba share folder between Linux (Lubuntu 14.04.1 LTS) and Mac OS X (v 10.7.5) but this is what I get from a command:

I know something about NetBIOS but it is Windows thing... so what to do if I am using windows sharing without Windows box?

That's the result I receive from my Mac as well to that command, smbclient -L 192.168.1.111 (my Mac's IP).
If you want to access your shared music from your Mac to use or play back on Lubuntu, I would suggest using PCManFM, Lubuntu's File Manager, instead.
From your File Manager (which you can access by clicking on the Folder icon on your taskbar, or in System Tools > File Manager PCManFM)
Then, you can type in the address bar:
(if 192.168.1.18 is your Mac's IP address).
If you'd rather use the GUI way, you can do instead:
- Select 'Go' > 'Network'
- Double-click 'Windows Network'.
- Double-click the name of your domain (Probably 'WORKGROUP')
- Find and double-click on the name of your Mac.
At this point, you'll need to enter the password for your Mac's account.
Once you've successfully entered your password, the folders shared from your Mac will be listed.
Double-click on your Music share, and find the song you want to play.

Spark(Free) is easily the best alternative to Airmail for people who don’t need as many of the advanced features that come packed into it. Spark has a lot of the modern razzle-dazzle of Airmail without the clutter. It has smart inbox sorting, iCloud syncing with the free mobile app, email snoozing, and quick replies. The free part might seem like its main strength, but it gives me pause because it’s unclear what the business model is, and therefore hard to tell what will happen to the app in the future. We’ve seen far too many abandoned email apps over the years to trust any free app moving forward, even if it is run by a company with a whole productivity suite. Still, it’s a great alternative to Airmail and free to check out if you’re curious.
Postbox ($40) is another great competitor. Like Airmail, Postbox excels in search options and additional powerful features you won’t find in most other mail clients. For example, you get message summary mode, sorting by type/subject of email (called the Focus Pane), add-ons, easy archiving of messages, and more. It’s a little clunky to actually use though, and Postbox doesn’t feel as at home in macOS as Airmail does. While you can check out a trial of Postbox for free, it’s a tough sell at $40 unless you really enjoy it.
